TRUSTEE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Initiated the requirement for connector roads between Deerbrook and Lake Cook Plaza to allow easier entrance/egress to stoplight

Residential Redevelopment Task Force
• Tree protection ordinance passed
• Limited size of homes based on lot size: FAR (floor area ratio), height, plane of light limit (which keeps a large house from completely blocking sun from a smaller house
• Limit on time of demolition to 2 months after permit is issued
• Limited time during which a house can be under construction to 1 year (1 permit renewal allowed) so that neighbors don’t have to live in a construction zone for years
• Instituted requirement for topographical survey prior to construction, and connection to storm sewers wherever possible so that drainage to neighboring properties isn’t made worse

Successfully lobbied Lake County board members to improve the bike path from Castlewood across tollway into Riverwoods, and to pave the bike/pedestrian path into Caruso Middle School

Consistently worked with staff for more visible crosswalks and safer sidewalks on Deerfield and Waukegan Roads, including the sidewalk leading to the high school

Worked with engineering department to keep streets open, not block driveways, and allow passage of school buses during construction

Mayor’s representative at area-wide affordable/workforce housing meetings for 2 years
